Start The Adventure

Here's a recap of our travels thus far:

Wednesday: We finished packing and clean up Barry and Anne Henning's House in which we were staying. Then, we drove with several of my friends to the airport where we checked in our nicely packed luggage. Thanks to Mollie, Sariah, Emma, Nigel and Megan who are the bestest for help us out tireless the last few days before we left with their totally boss muscles and brains! We first flew to Chicago and then got on the plane to London.

Thurday: We are still on the plane to London, I believe, although I didn't sleep much on the plane because I was helping out with Sydney and the flight attendants were bustling around with the lights still on. Fun truth: I got to watch The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy while I tried to wait for sleep to come which is one of my favorite movie. We landed in London around 10 am (London Time) and then we took a short flight to Geneva which is the closest airport to Albertville. While picking up our luggage in Geneva, we discovered 3 pieces of our luggage was still in London, which took a while to figure out all the paperwork to get it sent to us in Albertville. Well, then we all piled into a car that was sent from our language school to drive the rest of way to Albertville. When we got here, we were welcome warmly by the other families living in our building. Then, we looked around our apartment which was full of surprises from its past owners including food which was good because all the stores were going to close in 30 minutes at 7:30pm. After dinner, checking in on social media and some unpacking, I went to bed at 9:30 to get some much needed sleep.

Friday: I was awoken by my father bright and early at 9:00 who I begged for just a little more sleep which he gave me kindly. At 9:30, I got up and got the needed caffeine into my body in coffee form which was brought to us by our neighbors downstairs. Thank you Lisa Lind! Then, it was a long day of unpacking and cleaning out new house with a trip to the walmart-like store where I felt very American, sadly. I was wearing sweatpants and a t-shirt and to top it off, to hide my unshowered hair, a bandana. It's all good though, not much I can do about being American although I can't wait to be able to communicate in French! After that, more unpacking and Fijitas for dinner and a game of Lock with the Potters! During which our downstairs neighbor came to make sure we were okay, because we were making so much noise. Whoops!

Saturday:  This morning I slept in til 10, took a shower and then hung out in the courtyard. Now, sitting down for lunch.

For all the curious minds, the French like to ride bikes. I mean a lot. Kids, Adults, Teen, French Monsters, the whole lot of them. Also, the apartment (as you will see in the video on facebook/instagram) they told us was small, like really small but it's actually bigger than we all expected. Good Surprise! It's not very hot here, it gets a little hot in the late afternoon but mainly just pleasent, which is A-okay with me. You know how everybody is like "The french and their dogs, yo." whilst shaking their head, well as that is true, I was actually quite surprised at how many cats I see wondering around. So, haha, tricked ya the French actually prefer cats! It is beautiful here we are in the Alps like what! I mean I couldn't ask for a more beautiful place to learn French in! Wow! Well, that's all the interesting things here ever so.....Just kidding but that's all for now!

P.S. All of the people who live in our building are people who go to the language school.
