Another Day in the Life of Lactose-Freeness

So, today I made Almond Milk, which is really easy. All you need is a blender, almonds, water (although most people do), and a strainer. It's very tasty but still not my favorite because I love real milk. Main reason I'm excited about Almond Milk: Coffee!
First, soak the Almonds.
Then blend them to a paste.
Next, add hot water and let steep for 10 min.
After that, make your own invention on how to strain out the almond mush.

Take the strained juice and tada, Almond Milk!

After making Almond Milk, finishing my school, and catching up on dishes, I watched The Boy in the Stripped Pajamas. It's really sad, but I get extra credit if I write my thoughts on it. So that's awesome! Here's what I got so far:

Agitation, Animosity, Agony. These are the only things left. The pure monstrosity of it. How couldn't they have seen it, when we see it so clearly? I know why, but it’s hard to believe, they didn't know. It’s because the leaders just swept it under the rug because it didn’t hurt them.

When the main character asks his father, who the people on the “farm” are, his Dad responds that “they aren’t really people.” This statement is just...appalling because he says it in such a casual yet matter-of-fact way, it’s painful. When the Mother finds out what the horrid smells and black smoke is from, she’s horrified and wants to leave, immediately. She says to her husband “That's not war!” He replies “It's a vital part of it!”
Some people, understand instantly how sinful The Holocaust was, like the mother. Others need something personal to understand, like the father. The father needs something that was close to home to understand.
His son, the main character, makes a friend, Shmuel, in the camp, and one day decides to travel to the other side of barbed wire. He wants to help look for Shmuel’s father, who went missing when he was assigned to a “new work project”, never to be seen again. When there, the two boys get called into a “house” where they are told to undress for a “shower”. They all get into a chamber, the guard locks the door, and ignoring the pounds on the door, gases them. The father is too late, he now understands that it’s not just part of the job, but that they are taking the lives of people who could be your family.
Agitation, Animosity, Agony
Oh, and it's Gloria's 11th Birthday!
Surprise!

  1. How about a little vanilla and sugar in the almond milk and 10 grains of salt.

    Uhh...chocolate?

  2. Ya, I put in maple syrup, instead of sugar, so it won't be grainy and pinch of salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. I am hoping to try chocolate soon!
